Hi this is Greg Jacobus with the Denali team Driving With the Brakes On. It's Monday, May 27. We're having a rest day at 14k after our carry yesterday to 16,000 feet.

We had a spectacular view of Base Camp at 16k, it's a small city of 100-plus climbers housed in tents circled by ice walls to protect them from the wind. Flags from many countries fly from the city of ice: Korea, Netherlands, USA, Germany, Brazil and France, making our city probably one of the most international cities in the world. And all residents share a common goal, Denali summit.

"Weather permitting, we'll move to high camp tomorrow and make our summit bid shortly thereafter..."

We spent rest day sleeping late, enjoying Denali McMuffins courtesy of our five-star chef, Terry. Afternoon was spent making adjustments to gear and clothing for our ascent to 17k high camp.

Weather is expected to be good over the next few days. The team is in excellent condition and spirits, Weather permitting, we'll move to high camp tomorrow and make our summit bid shortly thereafter.

The team's heard reports of spectacular views from the ridge above 16k from other climbers and they've heard encouraging reports from other teams descending from their summits.

Closing for now, love to our precious friends and families. We miss you, be assured we are safe as we are driving with our brakes on. That's all for now.
